The Silver Lining Community Services Ltd (TSL) is a non-profit organisation under the arm of Kingdom Life Community Church. We provide problem-gambling education, debt-management counseling and crisis intervention for affected persons and their family members.

Jolene’s brother, Ah Seng, had a problem with gambling for over 30 years. It was a miracle for the family when he successfully turned over a new leaf at the age of 50. This prompted Jolene to set up The Silver Lining Community Services to reach out to more families in need. Their stories were featured on Mediacorp TCS 8’s “The Navigators” series and reported in Lianhe Wanbao.

The secret to our high success rate lies in the communal spirit built by its returning members. Many reformed gamblers return out of gratitude to give back to the organisation. Problem gamblers feel a sense of belonging here since everyone comes from the same background and faces the same struggles of loan shark harassments, debt and family problems. They feel a sense of achievement when they can share their experience and help others overcome the lure of gambling.
